Early Diagnosis and Intervention play a significant role in successful
outcomes!!
It has been found that children who begin early intervention programs will have a better
chance for improvement.
Children who receive educational intervention before the age of 4 years have shown to
significantly improve their chances of learning new skills and adapting to their
environment, when compared with children who begin intervention at a later age.
Research indicates that intervention should commence as soon as possible after diagnosis
, it has been shown that early intervention prevents declines in intellectual development.
Early intervention can lead to improvements in most areas of deficit in autism.
It is the goal of this organization to raise awareness and encourage mandatory screenings
for children suspected to have learning disabilities. If diagnosis is made early then
treatment can begin. With the rate of autism steadily increasing each year, a standard
screening should be developed to help identify these children early on. Focus must be
given to early diagnosis and early intervention to allow autistic children with as many
opportunities to become functioning adults as possible.
